April 2014
Being in South Island, New Zealand, I was reminded of how amazing my God is – he made these incredible beauties – W O W ! ! !
I spent two weeks driving through South Island; Christchurch, Oamaru, Dunedin, Gibbston, Queenstown, Glenorchy, Aarow Town, Lake Wanaka, Lake Tekapo, Mount Cook (Aoraki) and back to Christchurch.
I went with another lovely photographer and the benefit of this was that no one gets irritated when one or both of us say “wow… I need to stare and capture that!”.
The endless blue, aqua or turquoise? the colour is in the eye of the beholder I guess. Look through the photos below and let me know what you think the colour of the sky and the water is/are.
It is sad to think about that my great-grandchildern may not witness all these incredible views (scroll down to one of the few remaining glaciers).
My driving abilities were definitely tested through the winding roads of Devil’s Lookout and on the way to Milford Sound. Pro-tip: hire a nice sports car that can handle the turns, windings, hills, and wet roads – we hired a Suzuki Swift Sport.
Queenstown, I will be back! Especially for the most delicious burger I have ever eaten – Fergburger (TripAdvisor) and then for Fishbone (TripAdvisor).
(note: 4 years later and Fergburger was still the most delicious burger I have ever eaten)
